They approached Pretty Pragmatic to rethink their annual compliance report, turning a critical strategic asset into content that could lead the conversation and generate leads long after launch.

Our approach

Less box-tick, more page-turn

The insights were there. The intrigue needed turning up.

SmartSearch’s annual survey is a big part of their marketing strategy, supporting thought leadership, engagement and lead generation throughout the year. But in a world of safe, sensible compliance content, they wanted something that stood out for all the right reasons.

So we gave the report an editorial edge. Taking cues from Wired and New Scientist, we created a bold visual direction with generous white space, expressive typography and metaphor-led illustrations that made complex insights easier to notice, understand and remember.

Then we took it beyond the PDF. Animated LinkedIn assets teased the findings, built curiosity and gave people a reason to download, helping turn one report into a campaign with legs.

Our impact

Compliance with cut-through

SmartSearch now has a report with more pull, polish and plenty more purpose.
